GUNS AND POLITICS: CONNECTING THE DOTS

The difference is glaring! the Democrats support reasonable gun violence prevention, universal background checks, an assault weapons ban and banning those on the Terrorist Watch List from purchasing guns. The Republicans support none of them. In short, political party choice makes a difference in our actions towards gun violence prevention.

Hence, my shock and concern over the direction of Trump’s Presidential Campaign. If he wins, the wedding of guns and American culture will be closer and more deadly than ever. Why? Because of the leadership within his campaign team. All are Far-Right, angry, stir racial animus, many are misogynist, and attract White Supremist groups.

Here’s the list: Roger Ailes, former head of Fox News, recently fired over harassment of female employees.
Steve Bannon of Breitbart News, CEO-Campaign Chief Executive known for “bashing immigrants, Muslims, women and others….Birth control makes women unattractive and crazy.” according to the SPLC. David Bossie, whose activism led to the creation of Citizens United and is a discredited, unethical critic. Kellyanne Conway, Campaign Manager, a member of the Conservative Council of National Policy. The CNP boasts of some of the most notorious White Supremists in the country, which according to the SPLC “…regularly defame LGBT people…, describe Latino immigrants as a dangerous group of rapists and disease-carriers….” (See: www.splcenter.org)

And Trump? He has said that he will protect the Second Amendment. No restrictions. Buy, buy and buy.

Connecting the dots, we can see guns and politics in the same stew. These groups, these campaign folks, are all extreme gun advocates. The mix on the Far Right is toxic. We are who we hang with. Awake!
